NADINE RENEE KLEIN
Ms. Klein attended Hillsdale College and Valparaiso School of Law. She began her legal career in Western Michigan in 1989 at the Kent County Prosecutor's Office, after a brief tenure with a medium sized law firm.
Ms. Klein is an associate attorney with Brinks and Associates and a Kent County Commissioner for District 19. She is an experienced attorney with broad base litigation experience in all levels of courts from the District Court to the Michigan Supreme Court. Her background includes all aspects of family law, criminal law, bankruptcy, general civil, collections, and landlord-tenant matters. She has been admitted to the bar in Michigan (1989), US District Court, Western District of Michigan (1992), and US Court of Appeals; 6th Circuit (1995).
Graduating Magna Cum Laude from Hillsdale College in 1986, Ms. Klein elected to attend Valparaiso School of Law. In 1989, she received her Juris Doctorate, finishing in the top 25% of her class. While in law school she was a member of law review, participant in moot court competitions, and obtained various honors.
Dedicated to the Western Michigan Community, Ms. Klein has served our community in many ways. As an attorney, Ms. Klein has been active in the Bar Association, particularly with the Young Lawyers section. Ms. Klein has also served on a number of community committees and boards such as the State Friend of the Court Advisory Committee, the Kent County Friend of the Court Citizen's Advisory Committee, the Family & Children's Coordinating Counsel, and the Board of Directors for Grand Rapids Right to Life.
Ms. Klein also serves her community as a Kent County Commissioner. When Ms. Klein took office on the Kent County Board of Commissioners in January 2005, she was the only woman on the board. She is currently the vice chair of the Board's Legislative and Human Service Committee and serves on the Network 180 Board as its Chairperson, Public Works Board, John Ball Zoo Advisory Board, and the Millennium Park Citizen's Committee.
Ms. Klein and her family attend St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, where she serves on the Education Foundation and is a member of the Women's Guild. Nadine and her husband, Greg, have three young boys, Michael, James and Maxwell.
